Process of creation NETSUKE

             The carving netsuke begins with creation of idea. First of all you should present well that you want to create. Then what material is required for this purpose. Only after that you make a sketch of the future work. I have noticed such law: then more you think this idea in a head, that faster it made by hands.

   To a theme "Tanuki" I address in my works often. But basically it were " Fox Monk " from mammoth tusk. For this "Tanuki" I used a boxwood.

 

 

 

 

             As you will see further, the drawing is not always similar to an end result. As when I carve netsuke the material prompts as it to make better.

    So, the character - "Tanuki", a material-boxwood. One paw tanuki is lifted upwards, other paw holds a tail near an inflated stomach. Let's go!!!

             After final polishing and careful polishing I make toning. Then I inlay Tanuki's eyes by jet. Jet is very good material for eyes. Eyes turn out alive, as though with a sparkle inside.

             As you see, the final variant "Tanuki" is not absolutely similar to an outline variant. Now Tanuki has had a snack one paw, as though he flirting with you.
